Shot a model Canon 30d 17-85mm 430 ex II

having trouble with the flash not firing. It would only fire ever so often. Other than that I have no lighting, maybe I need a better use of natural light somehow.

I take it that your own comments about not having any light at all pertain only to #1.

#1 has a serious problem with her hair merging with the background. The result is that all we see is a very narrow and elongated face.
The best shot, in my opinion is #5. Even so, the lighting on her face is too dark and the scene includes that box on the wall that only distracts from the scene.
In #7 her legs would be better positioned if her toes pointed out instead of in.
In #6 the hair is again in tonal merger with the background.
#2 is just too busy and #3 and #4 are landscape format. You need a really good reason to not use portrait format, and I don't see that here.

I'll rate #1 as the best since it's the only image with any pop. Guess you flash worked here and it shows. Looks like you burned the background darker, or perhaps there's areas of detail & no detail. Agree with Bob on the tonal merger of the hair.
The rest would benefit from some basic processing; levels, contrast, brightness etc.

#2 looks underexposed and the yellow post is distracting. Not keen on the pose either.
#4 her face looks OOF
#5 could be a nice shot - clone out the power box in upper right, boost levels & contrast to help it pop. Don't crop at her knees or any joints. I did a 2 min edit. Her legs were a different tone so I tried to balance them. Looks like my edit was a little untidy on her inside thigh.
#6 & 7 windows make for busy background.

I like her expression in #5 and #7; the others look odd to me
