"Journeys" theme

Well, I'm from a city in Ontario that is rather multicultural, and the library is having a competition where the top 4 photographers get a $500 cash prize, as well as their work being published on a local book, and it is to be posted on the outside of the library on a huge ad!

I came here to see what you guys think would be a good idea to fit into a "journeys" theme.

"[City Name] is a growing community with many residents who have journeyed from other lands and have made the psychological journey to adjust to the changes in their adopted country. Through books, we all can experience the implicit physical, emotional and spiritual journeys which the authors map for us and which resonate with our personal voyages."

I've had a few ideas, I just want to get more people's input, because you might have a completely different idea.

Edit: Almost forgot, we can submit up to 3 completely unrelated photos, as long as they all follow the theme.

Could you start by sharing your ideas ? Is this contest open to all canadian residents or just your city?

Make sure you read the rules; a lot of these contests void your copyright on the submitted photographs.

I'm fine with the copyright, it's only something I'll do for fun.
The one idea I have is to get a few of my friends (from different backgrounds) and have them in front of the city's sign.
And it's only open to the city's library card owners. :P
