So I stumbled upon a Raynox 6600 on a 2ndhand website for only €60,- and bought it. Awesome deal if you ask me. BUT! The mailman just dropped my lens of and it's a 55mm version of the 6600. Doh! I didn't know there where different thread sizes.
What should I do now?
I already ordered the lensmate 58mm adapter. Should I just get a step up ring from 55mm to 58mm? Wil that even work??
The raynox lens is in really good condition by the way.

Get the step ring and give it a trial, it's worth it.
There will be some vignetting depending on your zoom setting anyway...

Have a look at this site (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/G7wide.html)about the pros & cons you'll have to expect.

So I just got my $3,- stepdown ring and unfortunately it doesn't work. Vignetting like crazy. If you zoom in to the point without vignetting you might as well just take the whole thing of cause the standard G9 wide angle is wider.
Now lets see how hard it is to get rid of this for €60,- and get myself a Raynox 7700.

You mean the Raynox HD-7000 i guess because that the wide angle lens. Raynox 7700 is a telephoto lens.
