Hi,
Has anyone seen these "Canon EOS Rebel XT Cheat Sheet - Quick Reference Card (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=67367&item=7509473700&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)" I have stumbled across them on the net and thought maybe this would help me out a little as I learn to use my camera. Then I thought, hey I have a printer! Can anyone point the newbies to the info so we can make our Own?
I figure if I waste ten dollars on something I can make myself about 150 times I could be shootin with "L" glass.
Thanks, Ron

Err....its in your manual. Just a little leg work. Nothing compares to actually getting to know your camera inside and out. I would not become dependant on a card or cliff notes. But that is MHO.

I have one. Do you want me to scan it and put it up for grabs?

I got a couple of cards like this (not this same one), and the problem is there is so much info on them that they have to print it in a very small font. Advancing age notwithstanding, there was just too much info on them to be able to find something quickly. By the time you memorize what part of the card has the info you want, you will probably not need it anymore.

But that was me - YMMV.

Have Fun,

Ummm ...

Chucksberg, ya might not want to be scanning and distributing the thing unless it's your own creation. Right click on the image in the ebay ad and a warning pops up reminding you that this is copyright material.

Granted, the 20D is a slightly different body, but when I got mine, inside the box was a small EOS 20D Pocket Guide, sort of like a quick reference guide.

I scanned mine, then printed a copy for my own personal use, then kept the original safe at home. The copy is in the bottom of my camera's field case.

RTFM. Shoot a lot & try different settings. Chimp. RTFM. Shoot a lot & try different settings. Chimp. RTFM. Shoot a lot & try different settings. Chimp. Keep your manual with you. After a bit, you won't need it for the kind of pics you want to take, but it doesn't hurt to re-read it once in a while just to pick up on stuff you've forgotten.
For me, manual cams were a lot easier to use. If it was on the wrong setting, well, I put it there!
Or you could just put it on the green box & practice saying, "What, me worry?" LOL!

Thanks all of you, I think I should probably just "Shoot a lot & try different settings" and carry the little manual around with me for a few months. I have a dance recital in a month and a wedding in 3 months that I really want to get some good shots at and I am a little nervous.

I've already stated that 20D had it.

The original poster was asking about the XT.

My XT came with a little cheat sheet, I don't know if it is the same as the 20D, but it is about 4 little pages folded over.
