I've done the Easter Lily and Stargazer Lily so I thought I might as well try the Yellow Lily and see how I do with that one.

All three were taken with my Canon 10D 24-70 2.8L ISO 100 This first one I used a 12mm Kenko tube on the lens and shot at f22. I had a barn door on the main light just left of the camera closed down so that there was only about a inch opening. A softbox was to the right and feathered so that only the edge was lighting the Lily.

This one was also taken with a 12mm Kenko tube on the lens and the fstop at f16 to shorten the DOF a tad. I think a shorter DOF would have worked better.

This one was shot at f22 and with a 20mm Kenko tube but with the barndoors open and the softbox not feathered as much.

Really nice. Shows the old 10D has still got it.

Those are cool Mike.
I like the middle one the best.

Sweet shots. 24-70mm L looks like a pretty sweet lens.

Mark, yea, the 10D still does a pretty good job of making me look good. The lens does it's part as well. ;)

Herder, #2 is my favorite as well, althoug elsewhere #3 seems to be the favorite of those that see it. #3 is all diffused light while 1 and 2 have a main light that has just a barn door in front of the flash.

Thanks Stan and Frank. I love the yellow of these Lily's although they look more yellow closed and when they open up they have some of the red highlights that you don't see before.

Rbrt, I love the 24-70 lens. I knew the lens was sharp from the scenics I've done with it, but I didn't realize how sharp until I started doing these closeups and marcro shots. It just seems to pull in the detail of what ever I shoot. My 70-200 4.0L and 70-200 2.8L are also very sharp lenses that I use some times. I like putting a Kenko tube on the 70-200 4.0L lens, which gives me a better working distance from the objects but still lets me focus real close.

Thanks again everyone.

Mike
