Hi.

I am far from a professional, so take what I say with that in mind...

You have a great profile. Strong, clean, and balanced. Similarly, you have beautiful eyes. The constrast between your skin/eyes and your hair/background is striking.

If I were directing the shoot, I would have you lifting your chin just enough to have it barely above perpendicular with your chin; looking slightly up and slightly towards me (as you have it here, just a wee bit more so I could see the lashes of your other eye). I'd light you from both the front (soft, diffused) as well as from the rear from a distance, to cast shadow between your hair and your face.

I might want to bring your hair back from your face; the way it is, is nice but also accentuates the downward look of the photo. It takes my eyes away from YOUR eye, which again is very pretty.

Just some thoughts, and hopefully constructive.

Best-
Noni

I like the angle, the one eye just stairing off, lighting is different but not bad, would be neat to have one like that and one with more lighting!

Thanks for all the constructive thoughts guys!! Hey Noni, thanks for your input, I'll try what you said. In fact, you seem very certain about it, wanna come over and take it for me? ;)

If you're local, I will in a heartbeat (although I'd have to use your equipment...I haven't got mine yet...). If you're not local, give it a try, and see what happens. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I think this is a great shot. Lovely eyes and nice complexion. The pose is great, try some others though like Noni suggested, and use some better lighting and you'll have some excellent images. :eyes

humi,

actually i think its pretty cool as it is... lighting wise its "dramatic". i think the only small gripe would be the strand(s) of hair that went wild and broke away from the group.

of course there are many other ways you could have done it to really extract more of your features but thats partof the learning process.

i like this one though. very cute and so is the photographer. good effort.

Very interesting shot. I like it. I'd like to see more of your work. This shot is clearly in color but looks almost like a duotone or tritone. Very interesting. Welcome to the board and please post more!
