I HAVE A 20D AND KEEP GETTING BLACK SPOTS ON PICTURES. THE CANON SERVICE CENTER FIRST STATED IT WAS A FIRMWARE UPDATE, THEN IT WAS A PIXEL THAT WAS OUT, NOW FOR THE THIRD TIME I HAVE ANOTHER SPOT. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THEY ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILIAR PROBLEMS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INPUT. THE AGENT FOR THE SERVICE CENTER SAID THE CMOS CHIP GETS DIRTY EASY, HOWEVER, THIS THIRD TIME, I DIDNT EVEN CHANGE ANY LENSES. DO I HAVE A LEMON? ANYONE ELSE HAVING SIMILIAR PROBLEMS?

More than likely dust on the sensor. Can you post an example?

Please don't SHOUT! :) We'll need a sample image in order to effectively evaluate your situation ... it could be dust on the sensor, but it's difficult to say without an example.

Put your camera in Av mode, F32 (or as close as you can get), and take a photo of a blue sky (or clean white wall). Any well defined spots (that aren't on the wall) are dirt on the sensor. Your best bet is to have Canon clean it, or if you want to do it yourself go here: http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning
Like they said, it's impolite to "shout" in all capitals, and you'll usually get much less help if you do.

EVERYTIME I TRY TO ATTACH A JPEG FILE FOR YOUR REVIEW, I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE PICTURE IS TOO BIG. HOW DO I REDUCE IT FOR ATTACHMENT AND REVIEW

Hiya DRCHEESIE4,
No need to shout :D Turn your caps off when you type please ...
I use Photoshop Elements 2, and to reduce image size I set a lower "Quality" when I save the image (in the last dialog that comes up called JPEG Options).

Sorry for the caps, just a routine, not meant as an attitude. I do appreicate the input. Here is a jpeg of the problem
EDIT - RFMSPORTS: Removed attachment. Too large.

Looks like dust on the sensor. Put your camera in sensor clean mode, turn it upside down and blow off the sensor with a blower bulb. If that don't dislodge the dust then you could try the copperhill cleaning method that Tim suggested. The copperhill method works very well.
