Thanks everyone for looking and commenting. He noticed me so he headed away, next time I'm at the lake I will bring my camo cover.

The last shot in this series is just before he took off, he's not clear but he must have been moving to fast for my shutter speed, that was at 1/250.

Ditto. Not the usual profile and seeing the water from that angle is much more interesting. Very nice!

The first one is really nice. The second really shows motioooooon. Shame you didn't get his head sharp in the second shot and from the angle it looks that his direction of flight didn't allow for paning. Keep at it.

I love mallards and have taken some pictures of them myself (do not really knew the English name until somebody here named the bird :D). Great shots ! Love #1 and agree for unsharp head in #2. What a pity !
