Well, this is one of my first attempts at HDR, so I thought Id throw it up here and get some tips. Of course, Im using the trial version of Photomatix, as can be seen by the watermarks. This is a view from our pool deck, which is in bad shape. This was a 3 picture blend, taking at about 915pm tonight. Aside from the noise, how's it look, any tips, critiques, anything!?

INteresting - I like HDR photos that don't look 'real' and this one does it for me. Ther bit of red on hte left is somewhat distracting as is the brilliant green near the building. But I really like the range.

Thanks, I feel the same way usually about these photo's. Those two things you pointed out really stuck out to me. Like I said before, basically my first go at it, dont think it turned out to bad.

it does nothing for me. too much noise, overly saturated colors and a poor composition IMHO.

I think he was just testing HDR and the shot wasn't meant to have musch compositional value. I really enjoy the intense color and noise - it is 'otherwordly'. Not every photo needs to fit into a box that is predefined. HDR kinda stretches the limit and takes us somewhere else.
My opinion only. Everybody sees a photo in a different light (no pun intended). That's why it's art!!
How many stops did you expose for ?

that's fine, but he asked for feedback, and my feedback is what I gave.

I appreciate all the feedback, thanks guys. I used -1, 0, +1 for the stops. As stated, this was more of a test run, as I messed with this program once before back in the winter, but forgot everything I learned and read. And obviously, I need to get me some real software so I can get rid of the watermarks. Again, I appreciate all feedback! Thanks again!
