I took these with a 100-400 and the 2x plus 1.4x stacked, first time I tried it, I was surprised.

I went on a long walk yesterday in the hills around Thousand Oaks (S. Calif.). I wanted to experiment with the stacking teleconverters. Most of the 200 + pics were not good, it all depends on the light. The hummer was very cooperative, he let me move from sun in front to sun in behind position. I will post some others.

Paul, remember that bush where the hummingbird was.
Hummingbirds tend to pick one of the tallest bushes around to perch on, and they will keep returning to the same bush, over and over. In one park near me, one hummingbird perches on only three bushes in one whole end of the park. I can set up my tripod and just wait. Within 10-15 minutes, the bird is there.
