how do i get to a screen that just has a single post on it, not the whole disussion? I am trying to create a gear list link and don't want everone's who is on the same page as me as well

Press the #1 on the top right of your post (or whatever post you want to single out) and you will see it individually, then you can copy that URL for a single post link.

So, for your gear thread link it would be http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=7973430&postcount=1806
