I know it's a long way off...but I've got the money now.
How does the 85mm 1.8 do for basketball? I teach high school and shoot most of the sports for my school. Our gym is your average high school gym. Not well lit.
What's the genera concensus for the 85mm for indoor sports?

tstowe,
It's a great lens for basketball. Fast AF, sharp, and (relatively) cheap. I think you'll like it.

I have one and often it's my go-to lens for dim gyms. There are lots of threads on this lens and shooting basketball and almost all recommend it.

If you can't strobe it's the only way to go for dark gyms.
Been proven time and time again.
