This is what our police department is modelling as their next uniform design.
I give it 2 thumbs up!

The fabric breathes and stretches so you can chase the bad guys without hindrance.

Hi Drisley
I think no 1 is just tremendous, powerful eye catching image and yet no actual eye contact.
good possition within the frame. The background matches perfectly with the colours the girl is wearing , and works well.
did I mention the girl looks wonderful, I shall keep checking our local police force to see when this fashion comes in.
I also think your probably quite pleased with no 2 as indeed i would be, vary sharp picture, great action / vitallity . good capture in mid air.

do you get the feeling i like your shots

well done Drisley

Cheers
Martin (Huckaback Photo)

PS. just noticed your lens line up, could well be perfect i'd say, not a zoom in sight.
I would pos add my 200 f2.8 L & my 14 f2.8 and surely could cope with anything i need.

Thanks Raj. Join the force man!
Huckaback, thank you very much as well :)
When I was developing my raws, #1 really jumped out at me, exactly as you stated. It was one of my favourite shots that evening.
I was happy with the action capture in #2, all though she was waaay at the other end of the stage, and I underexposed by about 1 stop while experimenting with a few shots with a selected speed and aperture.
I'm glad you like my lenses. I am very happy with them too. Sometimes in these events it can be tough with a fixed lens, but when the subject is in just the right position, the results are worth it.
I am contemplating one more final lens for the long end, either the 300/4 or the 400/5.6, but it's debatable how much I would use them.

Drisley
Take the same root as me.
Just find yourself a good 200mm f2.8 L & when needed usethe 1.4x with it, I kid you not its stunning and so sharp. I use it all the time for my stage/ concert work.
Sure you saw my candids on this section using the 200mm

main point with 200 is its not expensive as L goes but sharpness at 2.8 is vary good to excellent.

Just thought
The 200mm f 2.8 L becomes a 280mm f4 with the 1.4 extender attached and hell of a lot smaller to carry round.

Thanks Martin,
That is a very good idea. I use the 135/2L with 1.4x all the time, and yes, the image quality is 99% as good as without the converter.
I also like your idea, because then I dont have to get a big, white, L zoom. I sold my 70-200/4L to get the 135 and extender just because I prefered the smaller, black lens.

Drisley
I used a 200 mm 2.8L before I bought my own, a good friend of mine (quadphoto on here)
loaned me his lens once tried it was one of those "had to have situations"
I actually picked mine up from ebay at £286 its the mk 1 with the built in lens hood which i prefer.

Drisley I just spent the last 20 mins looking at your www , the diving/fitness/dance are just fabulous and what quallity, well done congrats.
Really think you should put the link at the bottom of your posts on here.
so all can admire the great images.
one in particular i like as sometimes you get an idea from a picture as to what can be created,
theres a girl diving the hands only just entering the water . my thought ...cut out just the girl maybe with some water . get a good shot of cup of coffee and montage into the surface . sure you can visualise my thoughts.
Martin

PS.anyone reading this not seen Drisleys images just check them out.

Maybe YOUR cops look like that but I don't want to see any of our local cops in uniforms like that. :p

Nice shots drisley.
You mean you'd wear that uniform?

Cool shots... The girls are pretty, but they are so ripped on those competitions they look plain scary sometimes.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)
Martin, thanks SOO much for your comments, and taking the time to look at my pictures.
I'm totally taken aback to say the least!:o
I have to say I had looked at your galleries too last nite, and considering the quality of your work, I take your comments as very high praise.
The diving pictures were taken last year with my DRebel and 70-200/4L which wasnt really ideal equipment for the task. I wasnt overly pleased with the shots, but it was definately a great learning experience. It also taught me that AI Servo and fast prime lenses are a must :)

PS, I'm changing my sig to show my webpage as you suggested, Martin.
