Had to make the most of the public weekend.
The early afternoon, I spent shooting aircraft at NZAA,
Emirates A340-500 - A6-ERG (http://wazz*****scity.com/20d/a6-erg.jpg)
Qantas 767-300 VH-OGF (http://wazz*****scity.com/20d/vh-ogf.jpg)
Anyway, straight afterwards, shot home, unloaded CF card, and drove off to Muriwai. Arrived 15min before sunset. (yeah, that was pretty close)
The sky was light, but the clouds were coming in, giving a dark moody feel later in the evening.

The spectacular sun behind clouds, shot from up on a cliff.

Looking down over Maori Bay, preserving the bright sunset, but losing all detail in the cliff face. Oh well, the colours was much more important than greenery on hills

Driving down the road, to get access to Maori Bay, saw these rugged trees, and just had to park illegally for a moment to catch them. :D

Looking up towards the gannet colony, (you can see the birds as the bumps on cliff), as the waves come rushing through. At this point I was DRENCHED, well above my knees. Wasn't worried about me, but the camera gear which was getting splashed.

Waves coming at you.. This time I was prepared.

A shot of the gannets taken a fair distance away at 300mm, is here:

Ashamed of it, that's why I don't want to post it as an image. Was shivering so badly, that's when I need an IS lens. :p
Enough shooting until the next week. Back to my bank job. :p
