Some friends and I went on a road trip from Colorado to Utah to see the ALMS race at Miller Motorsports Park (http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/) a week ago.

The track is awesome (covered stands, GREAT idea!)

I've never been to an ALMS race before, but I'm a huge fan ... and it was awesome!

I was very surprised at how "open" the pit areas were. I got to check out my favorite car up close:

I also got to see a Prototype car up close, and check out the engine, cockpit, etc:

The "open grid" was very cool - getting to see the cars up close, drivers too:

Getting to see the cars racing with the mountain backdrops was nice, seeing as the track is in the middle of the desert:

Seeing the prototype cars out on the track, flying around every turn:

It was quite exciting when lots of traffic of GT1/2 would be weaved through by a prototype car:

The rest of my shots from the track are on my gallery (http://www.charlesrichards.net/v/photography/automotive/lemans09/?g2_highlightId=91636)

I don't think I caught any POTN'ers in any shots though ... I was sure having some "glass envy" when seeing the pro photogs out around the track :)
