What do you normally set if the light meter read ,4.04,4.05, 4.06?
Do you round up or round down?

I think I would round down just to have that extra little bit of light

'Rounding' is to raise up or lower down a fraction, depending upon which is the closer integer. 'Truncating' is to always cut off the frational part to leave the integer only. Exposure uses rounding, especially since digital (and slides) do not well tolerate overexposing highlights.
