I've been asked to shoot a friend's client and his three boys aged 4-9. My friend is an interior designer and would like to blow up a picture of his client and boys. He is looking for a fun shot that doesn't look posed. I am so hesitant to do this since I have never shot so many kids before. I was thinking of something in the park but have no idea what would look nice. I've been looking to get some ideas but can't seem to find anything.
Can anyone help with ideas? Can I see some examples?

Hi Lucy

There is tons of stuff on my blog if you want to have a look www.helenbartlett.co.uk/blog

I would get them outside doing something fun - playing games, maybe sports. If the weather is nice you could always let them loose with a hose pipe - that always gets great expressions.

Rule No. 1....Let them be boys. Some of my best shots of my kids are of them just being themselves, as it has already been stated. Try to get some "staged" shots, but then let them play. Not the other way around. Keep snapping while they play. If you let them play before the "staged" shots, they won't want to be cooperative. Good luck with the shoot.
