Hello people, my name is Michael and I live in Belgium.

I found this website/forum while searching the internet for advice on my first DSLR.

I've always had love for photography as an art, and in recent months the force has been strong within me (please ignore pun!http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images2/smilies/tongue.gif), and the URGE to start some serious photography is proving too hard to resist. Hence my search for the best, or most adequate camera for my needs.

I finally settled for the EOS 5D Mark II, but don't know what lens to get. I'm stuck between the ef 16-35mm II L and the ef 24-105 IS L.

I plan to own both lenses in the future, but can afford just one at the moment. I would like to procure the 'better' or most handy of the two first, then compliment later. All tips and advice are very much welcome!

I apologise if this introduction has taken too long. Best regards.

Michael.

Welcome to POTN! :)

Lens choice is a personal choice in most part, what you shoot and what kind of look you're after means most. Perhaps you can test those lenses in a shop to get a feel of them.

Thanks for writing Pekka. I bought the 5D Mark II with EF 24-105mm IS L yesterday :)
