A great friend of mine is competing in the OSTAR this year, I managed to follow the start from perhaps the best vantage point of the day - up the mast of the Sorcerer II, a 95 foot yacht belonging to the J Craig Venter Institute (research vessel investigating ocean microbes and various microscopic organisms' DNA etc. quite technical stuff but check out www.jcvi.org for more info).
