I'm getting nervous about clicking the ORDER button for a new 19" AG monitor. I keep having the thought that whilst it will be great for digital images it could be awful for general internet surfing. I spend as much time surfing as I do in photoshop.

If you view the internet on an Aperture Grill monitor how do you find it?

Thanks David...

...perfect!

Superior image quality, color rendition, contrast, and clarity do not hurt browsing the web in any way at all ;)

good news. Now I just have to get my tape measure out, if it fits on my desk then I will order one. If it doesn't fit on my desk I'll order another desk as well :)

Thanks...

I've had a Philips 109P40 since December, and it's as good for the browsing as it is for photos - great. Perhaps you're thinking the horizontal lines top and bottom will be a distraction? They are at first, but you get used to them.

The Horiz lines were a concern having never seen one in the flesh. They are so faint though on my new AG display that I really shouldn't have worried.

It was just a little niggle I had in the back of my mind about the use of Aperture Grill CRT's and the Internet. It wasn't as if I could go and check one out in a retail shop. So the next best thing was to ask.

I'm not regretting my purchase.

I'm sure you never will. The lines are really only visible when you have a white background - you know, like when you're reading these forums :) They're excellent value now that so many are buying LCDs. Be careful when putting it into place though! My Philips weighs just over 50 pounds. Probably one of the best ways to wreck your back is to lean forward across a desktop and pick up a 50 pound weight  !
