Going to an outdoor evening concert (Rascal Flatts) and I have 6 row seats from the stage. I use a 40D and I have the following lens:

70-200 2.8L IS
50 1.8
85 1.8
Tamron 28.75 2.8

I really only want to take one lens. Not useing a flash so which lens and recommendations for settings on ISO, White Balance, and Shutter Speed?

Thanks!

The lenses I'd choose are the 70-200 and the 85... make sure you can bring in an SLR to the show beforehand though. Most shows don't allow them without a photo pass.

Definitely the 70-200 but then it's up to you if you want the 28-75 for some wider, more atmospheric shots or the 85 for the extra stop if you need it late on. Personally, I'd go for the 28-75/70-200 combo but would definitely do what Richard said and check beforehand. And there's also the moral part of it. Will there be enough room for a 70-200 or will people around you feel that you're in the way?

Check with the venue regarding the performer's policy on pro gear... Sometimes, they won't have that info for you till the day of the show... Without prior verification, I wouldn't chance taking your very expensive gear to the concert... Chances are, you'll be told to leave 'em in your car... And personally, I'd never leave my cameras in my car, in a venue parking lot...

Otherwise, the 70-200mm f/2.8IS is best for shows, especially from the 6th row... and for low light alternatives, like Richard and the Moose suggest, the 85mm f/1.8 is pretty fast focusing and sharp too.

There was a spam post last night. But, I'd go with the 70-200 and 85. Check though because none of the venues around me allow DSLRs without press credentials.
