Hi new user here, well new canon user.. infact new photographer here.
Very first ever photo session with a Digital SLR camera, last time I used one I was 15 in a photography workshop thing, so be gentle
Some photos I took of World war II Re-Enactors using my 300D and the only lense to my name. I really need to get a selection of lenses.
The day was faily overcast but hopefully asome of these photos were fairly okay ?

Hi "Dont Shoot", Welcome to the forum, and Congrats on your very first post having photos included. :D
That's an interesting comp in the first shot (I like diagonal comps).
On the last shot, hind sight would tell me to raise the camera a wee bit to eliminate the concrete barrier. All in all, I think you did OK for your first posting here.
Are you in Europe somewhere? Seems to me that another poster had shown a photo of a WW 2 reinactment that included train tracks and scenery similiar to yours. If memory serves, that poster was in Europe or England, and that's why I ask.

The first B&W pic is really pretty frightening as it looks so authentic... if you added a sepia tint and some film grain I would have just assumed it was historic..
Nice work.

Thanks :) I was trying to compose the photos so they had as little modern components in them as possible.
I was wondering off a way to add a sepia tint, I do have adobe photoshop CS I played around with a few functions but I could not find any that provided a satisfactory result :|. I wouldent mind a sepia tinted printout for my wall :)

I think one of the girls who was dressed up to the max got a little upset because I didnt take a photo of her.. she kept looking over to me and striking poses... But she didnt move away from the beer tent and loudspeaker system :|, whats the point of taking a picture of a person in 1940's clothing with a reak dead ferret over their shoulder when thir standing next to a PA speaker :| If I wasnt a little more experianced and confident I would have asked her to move to the platform to pose.
Being a Napoleonic Re-Enactor I know that most re-enactors thrive on having their photos taken due to the ammount of time put into the costumes, many a time have I become the will less photo subject for a press photographer.
I notice most of the press photographers have such a great charisma that It they said "I think it would be cool if you jump down that steep embankment " risking life and lim you know it would be worth it because this guy is going to get a great photo.

Dont You just know they're waiting for you to ask.
I was at The Renaissance fair here in Vegas a few years back when I spied this troup of Girls walking through the fair and asked them if I could take their photo. They immediately struck an obviously well rehearsed pose while saying YES!

Trying to get sapia look is a bit hard since I have little photos to compare them to , I was trying to match some old photos my parents had of my grandmothers wedding. Printed on this cardboard as far as I can see, Dont want to handle them too much
Wondering about popping them into my canon lide Scanner. ???
I dont know about making it more grainy yet :|

This guy was moving fast managed to pan at the same speed, seems to have worked after a fasion, need to play with slower shutter speeds :D, nothing compared to moterbikes or cars, or planes, or all the other things that whizz by and can kinda hurt if they hit you :P

Wow, those pics look like they were taken more than half a century ago. Well done. The sepia tint does make it look better.
