Very nice. Where did you have the off camera flash positioned in the dance shots?

Which lenses did you use during this wedding?

Great shots. There always seems to be posts from shots at Purdue at POTN. I'll have to go over to the campus and look for that tree, I didn't recognize it.

LOL. I think he had it in the middle of the group for the one with the guy in the green shirt in the middle.

"hey, can you guys be sure not to step on the flash? thanks." :)

ha ha... ha.. yep.. i was like don't fall on it !!!

the bride and groom shots is what i am thinking you are asking right?

i had one party member help me.. he stood 20 feet away.. and aimed the bare flash unit at their chest.. i told him to hide from me.. if he saw me move, he should be 180 degree from me..

works out great.. i just set my flash to 1/2 power, it was already dark in the room as all receptions are.. and the 1/2 power does the job most of the time.. then i bump iso up and slow the shutter speeds down to draw in more ambient as i liked..

Which lenses did you use during this wedding?

i used 3 lens on this job.. 2 camera bodies..

40D
5DMKII

50 1.4 EF
24-70 2.8L
70-200 2.8L IS

with these 3 lens i was able to cover pretty much anything that the wedding threw at me..

these are ALL great.

regarding #2, I love the backlighting in the left image. HOWEVER, on the right, I don't care for the "flow" of the ceiling which is leading the eye to look left back at the left image. I don't know.. it's a tought call.. the lines in the floor compliment each other.. so it's a ok since it's balanced?

As a person looking at these and did not attend the wedding, the dance floor shot in (7) is odd to see.. it looks like a big happy cult ceremony with that light in the center. It's a cool effect, but as an outsider everything about it makes little sense to me. Just offering an outsider perspective (not that it matters since it's the client's and of course they will not be so clueless as I am)

why are these all doubled up? I've never really looked into the idea of double pictures. I can see how with the right combo they would look better framed rather than a tiny, framed 4x6. All of your pictures are doubled up and just don't know a lot about this.

it is a jewish wedding dance song.. they all do it.. but i can see you thinking it is a cult like

Phamster, do you meter your off camera flash or just using the eyeball test with the histogram? What was the actual setting for shots like #1 and #2?

Thanks in advance,
Ben
