was wondering. Has anyone used other filters with the lensmate ie other than the ones sold by lensmate. I was looking at getting the lensmate attachments but due to budget I was thinking of starting with cheaper filters.

The reason I ask is that lensmate quote :

"The Lensmate G10 adapter was designed around the 72mm Kenko Pro1 Digital Circular Polarizer, which has small frames and more clearance inside, allowing the filter to be closer to the lens to avoid vignetting at all focal lengths.
Other polarizers may not provide the clearance necessary for the zoom lens at full telephoto, or may vignette at the wide end.

Also works with B&W slim filters."

So I was wondering if there is anything special about the 72mm thread on the Kenko or just simply just that is what they sell.

Any ol' 72mm filter will fit, you can also use ND filters or any other filter you may like, as a matter of fact a linear polarizer is good too for a G10, of course better quality filters, specially muticoated filters give a better perfomance ^_^

yeh i was thinking of gettin 72mm lensmate adapter and a cheap polarizer as well for my g10 but i also wanted to try out a tele lens which would require the 58mm adapter and would be expensive for all of that.

Would have been good if they could offer a discount if u get all 3 parts together

So i've decided to go with one of the cheapo 58mm ebay adapters to go with a tele lens and a 58mm polarizer to try out as i dont know much i'll be using it or it might end up being a waste gettin the 72mm lensmate n not using it.

btw do linear polarisers really work the same as circular? as i seem to see alot on circular but not much on linear...
