Does anyone out there have this filter? I'm debating whether to lay out the $200 for it and am wondering about pros and cons any of you have experienced.

I would like to see an answer to this as well. I've debated buying that exact filter for so long.

Guess we'll just have to wait for one or the other of us to buy it, John. I read that you lose 2 to 2-1/2 stops with this filter, so it's definitely one of fairly limited use. I don't want to buy it then see it go the way of my Lens Baby -- i.e., in a forgotten corner of a rarely used camera bag!

just saw this thread guys but I got mine in the mail today. Here's one, I had to adjust WB and the red curve in DPP...I liked the way this looked the best. Handheld a GND over the gold n blue.

It's a fantastic filter. Especially great for travel photography, where you can't always be there at the ideal time of the day:

I have just received mine, but I have yet to really use it. I'll put up some pictures when I do. Hopefully soon!

Seems like a lot of work is needed in post to make proper color adjustments with this filter...check the following link:
How to Use Singh-Ray Gold-Blue (http://www.sojournsinnature.com/blog/?p=381)
Probably won't deter me from getting one, anyway. ;) I recently picked up S-R's Vari-N-Duo, and that also is an amazing filter.

Just cool the white point down (generally 3200-4600k, but it depends on the ambient lighting at the time, as well as the desired end colour temperature) and apply 120-125 green tint in DPP. Or you can just use click white balance on a white object, then tune to taste.

I have one of these on order, myself. Does it cut down exposure the same way as a regular CPL?

I just ordered one of these filters too. I've contemplated long enough! Will post my results when I get the chance.

Hello! I just received my Gold N Blue today. The build quality from Singh Ray is always top notch. I purchased the 77mm thin and I'm hoping to get a chance to try some shots. Stay tuned!

Here are my results as promised. I'm in love with this filter and I should have bought it sooner! This filter will be good for those times when the light is real bland and flat. I really didn't care what the composition was but, it was merely to see the effect of this filter. :)
Equipment: Canon 1Ds MK III and 24-70 L
Here's a photo of it without the filter. No adjustments done. Just sized for the web.

Here's the photo with the Singh Ray Gold 'n' Blue. I dialed in for maximum gold effect. Holy Cow! The colors just come alive and I didn't do any adjustments here. Just resized for web.
I should've dialed in for the blue effect but, it was sunset. :) Any questions, please feel free to ask. :)

Is this straight out of camera? It shows a very strong magenta colour cast, which is typical for uncorrected white balance while using this filter - auto WB and the standard pre-sets in both DPP and the camera don't handle it very well.
If you still have the original RAW, try dialling the colour temperature down to 3200-4000K (maybe a bit warmer or cooler, depending on the original shooting conditions and the desired end product) and applying a 120-125 green tint (direction 90 on DPP's colour wheel) to correct this. Or find a white object in the photo and apply click white balance off it.

It's straight out of camera but, I am aware of how to use it correctly by using this formula from the Singh Ray blog. It's merely to show the effect. I'll do a wb and post later. Thanks for mentioning it. :)

You are most welcome my friend. :) ;) Check out my post here. I seemed to have gotten a better response on this part of the forum. I'm still experimenting with this filter and I'm just trying to find the right situation for it.

I did send my Vari-N-Duo back to S-R last week...they agreed to convert it to a thin mount using my glass for a very nominal fee. The vignetting up to 35mm was getting to be a bit bothersome. Can't argue with customer service like that.

Nice! I can't complain about Singh Ray's customer service. Always top notch! :)

It may not have been where it was posted. Your thread title "For you filter colletors out there. Get in here! =)" contained nothing about the specific filter as the title of this post does. People wishing to know more about or comment about the GB filter could not tell it was about the filter and may have passed it by. ;)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but anyone tried the normal profile on 17mm using a FF camera? Does it vignette?

If you buy the thin mount, it shouldn't vignette.

Here's one: 5D, 17mm, f/8. GnB thin mount plus handheld 3 stop GND to keep form blowing out the sky. I'm getting the hang of picturing what the viewfinder "view" will look like after WB adjustment. Only problem is when 90° to the sun, the polarizing effect didn't come close to covering the whole frame; this is about 2/3 of the original 17mm frame.

Just had mine delivered last week (77mm thin mount) and playing with it at the pond in my front yard before an upcoming trip to Kauai next week. The top image is slanted towards the blue side, and the bottom towards the gold. Both have the same WB temperature (2750K IIRC) and -46 green tint. Post included levels, mild sharpening and color tweaking to yellow and red. Not the best photographic conditions at the time...I still have playing/learning to do.

I haven't really got to use this yet, but from my initial tests..i had a really deep magneta cast, I wasn't too happy about that but the g-b effect is definitely there.
i need to give it more of a practise i think but it almost crossed my mind to swap it out for a color intensifier or a vari-n-duo

Here's an image I took a few weeks ago the morning after a dust storm. The dust gave the city a pinkish tinge and can still be seen on the horizon. I fiddled with the Gold 'n' Blue a bit and ended up leaving a lot of the colour in the final shot after post. I tried the Vari-N-Duo on the same scene but far preferred the Gold 'n' Blue.

Hmmm - can't find any stockists in the UK for this - anyone recommend another filter that will acheive similar look/quality?

Don't know if there are any others to do much the same but someone from the UK was importing from Singh-Ray (privately). I think that was in the Vari-n-duo thread. AFAIK they don't have any resellers.

You can only buy these filters from Singh Ray directly. You can order from B&H but, it will take much longer since they will order from Singh Ray anyway. :)

I just bought my filter before Singh Ray pushed up the price by another $80 I think.
For those who pondered so long whether to buy it, here are some of my shots taken on an overcast day for sharing. Of course, they are not as great as many posted here.
