View Full Version : Stealth Reporter on the shoulder pictures?

I've found plenty of pictures of these bags loaded with gear, but very very few of the bag in a good way to get a size reference.

Anyone have pictures of the outside of the D400 or D500 with a size reference? Preferably on someone's shoulder would be great. :)
Local camera store didn't have any, closest was a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 50 or Pelican PCS152 which are great bags, but the thinktank looks too much like a laptop bag, and the pelican might be a bit on the large size.

I'm looking for a shoulder bag with quick access big enough to carry a 50d with grip and 70-200 2.8 attached, with room for 2 extra medium lenses and a flash, but not something as big as the 650 or so. I don't need to carry everything I have, I have storage at home for that.
I'm currently using a National Geographic medium shoulder bag which is the perfect size, but I'd prefer a waterproof(resistant) zipper access that doesn't require moving the flap when changing lenses.

Thanks!

Try this:

Don't forget, if you don't have the bag full, it'll collapse a bit and mold to your flank.

Nice! Can't believe I didn't see that. Thanks.
Just wish they said which is which. I'm over here with a tape measure and my existing bags trying to compare :)

The 650 looks HUGE.

It is huge. I have a 300 which is pretty normal in size (what the h%ll does that mean?!) The next up is the 400, which is too big for me, but I only need it for a 5D2 with 24-205L attached, the 100-400, the 580 light and some accessories. The 400 does give you space for another couple lenses, easily. The 550 is pretty large.

Listen, order a couple from B&H, check them out without removing the labels and tags, and send back the one you don't want.

i have the 200, it holds my gripped 20d with hood reversed, the 70-200 f2.8L with hood reversed, and a 580exII shoved in one of the front pockets. My only gripe with it is that it is very boxy and doesnt really collapse at all when it isnt full.

The 200 would have worked for me (though a little tightly,) but the 100-400 with hood reveresed was higher than the top cover, hence the 300 was my solution.

Ignore the scenery if you can! :D

Here's a shot of me my wife took during our visit to Bryce Canyon last year. I was using my Stealth Reporter AW400. Big enough to carry all the gear in my sig line, but it was heavy!

Mine is stuffed after you add if sync chords, my 28r5hv, other random lighting stuff, and my reporting stuff. Deffinitly getting a bigger bag this summer, as much as I dislike camera backpacks, I think I am going to pick up one of the F-stop backpacks, because I am starting to get back problems from lugging all that gear around campus with my backpack full of books and my laptop.

The stealth reporter series is nice with the built in rain cover, and it is really rugged. Ive heavily used mine over the last 3 years and it is just now starting to fall apart. The damage is not that bad and not a flaw in the construction of the bag, it is more that I beat the hell out of my gear.

Thanks for the info and pics. I just ordered a 400 from B&H. It will be here Friday.
Will check it out when it gets here, may swap for a 300, not sure.

I plan to use it for places where I'll be walking around almost all day with no easy access to my vehicle, and unable to bring a rolling bag along. I've gone the backpack route, but they aren't exactly quick access, and I found the sling packs to be a bit uncomfortable (otherwise the slingshot 300 was almost perfect).

I think either the 300 or the 400 will handle your gear. The 300 will be a little tighter fit.

I wish there were more pics of bags like this:) I'm not a big guy and don't want to lug around a bag too big. While I love the size of my Domke F-2, I do have my issues with it. I like the Stealth 200 and 300 but can't really visualize it's size unless it's on my(or someone else's) shoulder.

Let us know what you think of the 400:)

Just received it from UPS. First impressions are good. I like the size, not too big, not too small.
I'll be taking a ton of pictures this weekend at a charity bicycle ride, so I'll be carrying it around. We'll see how it does.

Yup, adventure 9

I have one as well. I love it. Only bag I would buy to replace it is a Naneu Pro K4L.
