These are excellent! To me, they capture the essence and the emotion of musician/singer. Wonderful work.

Interpretiv, while your pics are very intersting... you're only going to end up with featuring 8 of them... (read the posting rules and regs.)... So while these are up, you've got some great faces and action shots... you could always split this thread up two separate sets...

Some of the portraiture is more like *portraiture* than performance, so consider that as an alternative location for posting them...

The depth and lighting on some of these is fantastic... Keep up the good work...

Ah, one more thing... add a number to them so we can comment on 'em by reference #.

Nice varied series.
I don't like #1 too much, and #7 should be framed a bit lower, but some real nice shots here.

sure, most of what you asked about were taken with a 50 f/1.2 and 85 f/1.2 except #2 was shot with a 24-105.

Nice shots... been meaning to work my way over there, to get some similar shots in the clubs in the Quarter.

I'm over in Biloxi, so it's a good day trip for me, just haven't had the time.

Anyways, very nice work.

there are plenty of great environments for social and performance photo here, far from just jazz clubs! :-) you should make a trip down for the weekend of "satchmo summerfest", which is the beginning of august. you won't be disappointed!
