Had no idea who Ash Grunwald was before going to this gig, but by the end of the set he had landed another fan. This guy was amazing to watch. Playing a good portion of the set on his own, with a home made kick drum and a variety of pedals for vocals he seemed to get more sound than a lot of 3 piece bands I've seen!

What (if any) color correction did you apply? I really enjoyed your set as I have been wanting to try my hand at concert photography. What lens did you use?
Oh and now I am a fan of Ash too...thanks!

jeff i desaturated and upped the exposure on these. i shot with either the brick or the 70-200 depending on which shot...

I like the story #7 tells... It kind of sums up the atmosphere of the show... cool.

Nice set Benon
Ash was a regular on Triple J until he hit it in the big time.

I second the liking #7 but they're all really nice. The colors and crispness really take the viewer there. I shot a bunch of concert shots the other day but this kind of color and contrast is tricky. Great work!

yeah peter, i stopped listening to triple j a few years ago in favour of community radio. i heard he was a dj for a while?
hippy, i suggest trying a bunch of different settings to get the best you can with whatever light you have been given. important thing to remember is that every stage light setup is different and will require different settings, but generally i sit around the f/2.8 1/60th mark (always at ISO 1600)
