No.3's amazing! Did you really zoom out as he approached? Please tell me it's not Photoshop trickery.

no trickery. im a novice to photography and super novice to photoshop. i wouldnt even know where to start to make a pic look like that. its actually a slight pan shot. i focused when he was in the burnout box and started shooting and zooming as soon as he was rolling out. all i did was add a border and text to it. oh i also selected all and did a sharpen, but dont know if it did much of anything for the pic.
so thank you for the compliment.

I saw the pics in this thread and I had to post these 2 I took back in April at the local Texas Drag Racing League races. Don't ask me how I did the blur effect, it shocked me too. Look at the driver's face then look at the rest of the shot. I just like this one The second one of the purple Camaro, look at the rear tire.

Intimidator-3, the blur effect is because a flash went off while you were using a slow shutter speed - 1/15 sec according to the EXIF data. I suspect someone else's flash fired in the middle of the exposure since the frozen image appears to be in the middle of the streaks. This is not the parallax effect. The background is relatively sharp, so you did not pan.

Good eye Jim, I jumped the gun on that one! I was too focussed on the car to notice the background.

and the guy is the yellow mustang is landing from a small wheelie and there is smoke coming front the impact of the front tire at speed. it is a neat shot, just wish it was sharper and more vivid in color.
