I took one of these lastnight in the rain......









the other was taken a few weeks ago at the science center....

They both strike me as snapshots.

I think the composition of both could use improvement.

In the first I am going to assume your intended subject was the the bridge -- in which case I would try to fill the frame with the just the bridge. I find the lamp post & cars to be very distracting. Also by getting the lamp post out of the photo you will avoid the lens flare. If you feel the need to include the cars -- perhaps use a tripod & long shutter to capture their light trails.

In the second, I assume your intended subject was the giant steel contraption. Firstly you need to re-compose to exclude the handrail in the bottom right. Secondly, I think you need to capture either more or less of the contraption. So I'd either like to see all(or most) of it... or zoom in and capture a certain interesting section so we can see its fine details. Maybe get under the whole thing and shoot up -- then you could avoid the people, doors/windows that are distracting.

I wasn't intending to shot at all lastnight, I just happened to notice the way the bridge looked in the rain and decided to shoot it... I didnt have the lenses I wanted, or anythig steady to shoot from, I was actual;ly standing on the top of a fence, leaned up against a post, trying to get a better angle and less crap in the shot......
The Science center is kinda cheesy now that its been brought to my attention......Thats why I post em in C&C ....
