What the hell is going on? I just got my new D60 and it's discontinued? My D60 works just fine and I love it. There were some underexpo. shots using EX550, but not a big problem by using the Raw Conv.2 to fix them.
Canon having financial problem? Full-Auto mode making too much headache for them? 1.6X factor making too much lense selection problems? I know there will be the replacement in future for D60. However, I did not expect Canon to release the replacement this soon. I guess I have to wait to see what will happen in PMA2003.

Where did you hear it's being discontinued?
There doesn't seem to be any indication from Canon.
I wouldn't be surprised if a new low-end DSLR comes from Canon any time now. I am hoping it will come in at a lower price point than the D60 (say $1500). In this scenario the D60 would be need to be upgraded or discontinued at about the same time.
Or maybe they'll wait to offer a cheaper DSLR until their forced to by Nikon or Minolta.

On another site I saw a comment that Canon Canada had indicated that no more D60s were going to be produced and that it was being discontinued. Don't know how reliable the source was.

I bought a D30, 3 weeks later read it was being discontinued and a D60 released.
was i upset ?....No my camera is still "What I Bought"
It Still takes what i point it at.
It is still much loved by me now as when it was when i walked out of the shop with it.
Enjoy your D60.....You bought it for what it was, everything changes, some quicker than others.
Go and take photos, Do not worry about what is to come.

I have a D30 and I have to jump all the way to the 1D in order to get some good performance. Maybe the D60 replacement will do more then just increase the MP. I need something better then the D30/60 but not as much as the 1D.
However, if the 1D drops much more then it won't really matter what replaces the D60 because, for me anyways, the price difference will be small enough that I'll just go and get the 1D.
