this is the shot from 2003 that made me interested in learning more about photography. my wife is the pro and I'm the newbie. It was shot on an old Rebel 2000 with the kit lens and then scanned and cropped and made sepia in PSCS.

We liked it so much it became an integral part of my wife's website.

very cute. I would crop closer and lose alot of the back ground.

I would disagree with loosing the background. I think it adds to the picture, it would be a little boring without it.

yeah, I like the background in the shot, it gives you more idea that this actually is out in a field on a bale of hay.

if you wanted to do any cropping, i might actually crop it from the bottom so you see less hay and at the same time, move her out of the center of the image

Thanks for you comments! The original image was a vertical crop and our daughter was almost dead center in it too. I still need to evelop my eye for copping in the camera... especially if I am to get to my goal of shooting regional concerts and/or events.

Since my wife got her 20D that leaves the 10D more available for me to practice, practice, practice.

Thanks again.

I would loose a little ( but just a little ! ) of the foregroud ! :)
It is a very nice picture. And works a lot in sepia.

I like this photo, and wouldn't crop anything, because if you crop the bottom/front, you might loose the fact that She's on a rolled bale, and if you cropped the background out, you'd loose the Ranch house/farm style theme, which tells a story in its self. ;)
I think this shot is a keeper as is. :D
