The goldfinch...beautiful color. I tried this shot in the trees with the Sigma 50-500mm on my Canon 5d, AV, f8, ISO 250, 1/125, 500mm. Then did a heavy crop and, of course, tried to sharpen, but not too succesful.....using PSE 7. I suppose that's where the super-telephoto L lenses will stand out; I have the 135L which is great if you fairly close.

Another nice shot Bob, but you might not know that you would get more views and more comments if you posted the image in the Birds forum rather than this the Bird Talk forum which is more of a discussion place for tips, techniques and gear.
