Now that the weather is getting nicer here in Jersey all the local classic car/hotrod cruise nights are coming alive. This is the closest one to me and averages 150+ cars a week. The full set for each week is available via the flickr link in my sig. All were taken with a 40d and 100mm macro, handheld, Heliopan UV and very little PP in CS3... C&C is always welcomed..

I like the angles though I would like to see the whole car....but with that said, you did a great job with what you worked with

These are interesting, but I'd rather see one car covered + the details you like about it. no full car shots? "The full set for each week is available via the flickr link in my sig."

Well there is a back story to the "why no full car shots" question. There is another person who covers this car show and takes "snapshots" of the entire field. We both share photos with the same website (hotrodhotline.com) and I don't want to step on his toes. (just a respect thing) The few full car shots you see are of people I know or cars I'm personally interested in . I also try to take one car per week and shoot a few different detail shots of interesting features - last week was the green Ford "Rat Rod" and the 15th was the flat black T-Bucket...

PhotosGuy - I love your compilation shots! The turnout should be minimal tonight due to rain so I'll give your full car + details suggestion a shot. Thanks!

I love the shots. It seems a very anorak thing to want to see the whole car afterall it is the sum of it's parts!

We can all look up shots of the whole car on google or wiki but to see what attracts an individual's eye in the first place is a wonderful insight.

I dig it.

Nah - that doesn't motivate me one bit nor would it do anything to "help" the other guy... He covers 70+ shows a season and takes average "snapshots" to cover the events. (quantity vs. quality) He's an old school guy that would definitely take offense to "the new young punk" trying to one-up him... I understand & respect that...

The thing that really motivates me is when people stop and say, "Thanks for noticing xxxxx on my car." or "Most people overlook that part/detail..." That's confirmation that my photos are delivering the intended message and shows my love for automobiles...

I know what they do & they know what I do. They can't get my prices & I don't want their prices. "Tough rocks" if anyone can't live with it. ;)
