I am into general nature photography but big into macro. Have done some portrait photos but I rather take pictures of birds, sky... etc... I have taken first lighting pictures last Wednesday evening when we had storm.
If you happen to be in Greenville and you see a guy who is chasing a butterfly, spiders... that probably will be me.
And, what kind of photos do you take?

Hi, I'm from Simpsonville and I am new to photography sort of. Learned from trial and error and just now delving into the DSLR market.

I was interested in doing newborn, pregnancy and glamor photography when I first started but now Im just doing what ever might bring me more money to invest in more equipment lol I also LOVE nature photography and have a strong interest in macro but lack the lenses to do so and not sure what money would be in it

Wow~ there are at least four of us in upstate SC. ^^
Photography is my hobby so naturally I do not make any money to take pictures. I sometimes wish that I do make money so I can buy more and bigger stuff. lol
I have a good friend who suggested me to submit some of my macro pictures to... book publishers such as text book and stuff but I am not sure if I will do that. I do not believe there is any money in macro other than bragging right. lol
Happy shooting~ ^^

Hey Mom I checked out your myspace photos and I noticed your Helen Ga. shot. Is there a lot to photograph there? My wife has been wanting to drive down for the last few weeks but I have been putting it off. Thanks

I think Helen is most beautiful in the fall of the year. Its a cute but very small little town. In all honesty, Ive never ventured beyond the town its self but I hear there are waterfalls and other beautiful parts of nature there. I wish I was more help but Ive never been on a photographing adventure there, only family vacations. I was told Gatlinburgh (spelling) was the better place to go but I assume thats left up to the individual person as Ive yet to go their either. Im a coastal type girl at heart :)

I'm in South Carolina now but I'm from Georgia and went to UGA. My fraternity went on a campout there once a year. There's a state park. LOTS of photo opportunities.

My daughter lives in Aiken, SC and I went to see her last month. Beautiful country, so lush and green!
Quite a bit different than the prairies in Western Canada!
Here are some pictures from my trip:

Anderson, here! You guys from Charleston, I would love to know if you know of some cool, delapidated buildings in your area. We come to Charleston about once a year (LOVE IT!!) but don't really know our way around...not looking for a take-your-life-in-your-hands-ghetto experinece but all for anything relatively safe. Oh, for you guys in the Anderson/Belton area here's a shot from the old Appleton Mills (which my law enforcement daughter gave me a royal tongue thrashing for doing, reminding me of the meth-heads & other perps wandering around there! hence, the new "I'll try to be smarter" shooting philosophy!).

Woolburr mentioned the NC mtn folks, for those in the upstate the Brevard/Transylvania Country area is full of great places to go. It's probably as close to you as it is to me and I just live on the north side of Asheville.
Farkwhar, Helen is a beautiful place. If you haven't been, you owe it to yourself to visit. I've been there for Octoberfest several times, but not in many years.
