SIGMA 55-200MM F4.0-5.6 DC CANON W/HOOD

Anyone know if this lens is any good? I'm thinking about getting it, but not sure what the results are like.

It's going to be better then if you have nothing to reach that far, if you only own a kit lens it's result should be fine.

But I think shops like Ritz have sold Sigma bundles like this from day one. Like a 28-70, 70-300 bundle (for 35mm film), now w/ digital I'm sure it's an 18-50, 50-200 Sigma bundle.

But you might be better off saving a few bucks for one of the slightly better telephotos. Canon makes a nice 100-300mm or 75-300 USM. I think Sigma has a nice APO lower priced telephoto too.

But if you have nothing past 50mm this will give you a tool. I think Canon even makes a 55-200mm lens now too. But it won't include a hood.
