I've got a friend whom I will be visiting abroad, and I would like to bring him something for his photo hobby. I believe he has a 40D, but I don't know what other stuff he has.
He's not a photo buff, just enjoys taking pics on holiday, family things. My price range is about $300, more or less.
Any ideas for a great item?

I'd say get him a flash if he doesn't have one already. We all know it does wonders =]

-a flash with spare rechargeable batteries
-A Domke Camera bag ;)
-Buy an old film camera(35 or 127 film), just as a neat gift to add to a collection. Usually can find them in somewhat good condition on ebay, Goodwill, yard sales...etc.
-A sweet camera strap
-A nicely built tripod
-One of those External hard drives to save all his photos on
-Extra camera batteries
-Extra Mem. Cards
-A cleaning kit for lenses/camera
-or-
I don't know if this is a really good friend or not, but what I do for people who like my photos I go and print out the ones they like, go get some matte board and a frame and give it to them as a gift.
All out of ideas for right now.

Thanks to all of you. I decided on a Hyperdrive with a large capacity. Anybody who shoots alot can use one.
I appreciate all the suggestions, and may take up a couple of them myself. Headshotzx...that is a cool combo of a cable and wireless remote. Didn't know that one before.
