It seems like everyone is sold out! I am lamenting my procrastination and wondering why I didn't buy it earlier. Anyone have any ideas?

The only one I have seen is on Amazon for almost twice the MSRP! YIKES!

Did you check Ebay?

Don't the big retailers carry it on their online stores?

Check out google and click shopping. Probably find a little cheaper. Good luck.

Adorama has them reconditioned for $429, it's a great way to go.

429 is a bit much for the G10 underwater case isn't it? It's sub 300 bucks here in Canada.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm way to scared to trust my new G10 to a ziploc bag so I won't even think of that option! 2 weeks ago it was $229 everywhere (MSRP) and now amazon has it for over $400! I actually found someone on ebay that had it but they are in Japan so I know it won't get here in time. Everywhere else I checked had it out of stock.

Yikes--I guess I will be doing my vacation with a cheapie disposable--sigh!

woo-hoo! Triumph! And at substantial savings. My DH found this one here:
http://www.accessorygeeks.com/waterproof-case-camera-wp-610.html

They had it in stock and I should get it in a couple of days! I will let you know how it turns out!

As long as you don't go below 15 feet or so it should be ok. I would be careful about leaving it in the sun as UV damage might shorten its useful life. And of course watch out for sharp or rough edges!

If you wanted the Cannon housing (cheaper but less sturdy than the Ikelite housing)

http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-535/069814/Canon-WP-DC28-Underwater-Housing-for-Powershot-G10.html

or search e-bay for WP-DC28

wouldn't touch those ziploc style ones unless you are just wanting a splash-proof case for the beach !

Thanks for the tips! I actually ordered it from Scuba.com and they charged me for it but it isn't even in stock and I won't even get it before my vacation. Their site is a little misleading and should have a notice if something is backordered.

Edit: Sorry It was for the G9

I bought Canon's housing for my G10 at the same time as the camera, and I am very disappointed by it. I have other underwater cameras, Canon S500 and Casio EX-Z55, and results with the G10 housing are inferior to those. The problem is the shape of the "port" that the lens extends into. On the other housings these don't affect use of the internal flash, whereas on the G10 the lower part of the picture is sheltered from the flash. Anything approaching a close-up cannot be taken with the internal flash. I have an external strobe but that's totally missing the point, as the whole point about having a compact underwater is to keep it compact and I don't want to use the strobe.

For me the housing for the G10 was a waste of money, and I no longer use it. I get much better results from either of the other cameras.
