Big Sur Camping?

I am heading up to Big Sur next weekend and have never been there. I am looking for a campground that is not too far from a town because I don't plan to do much, if any cooking. Ideas.

Well I'm going camping this coming Monday, June 8th. We reserved a spot in Pfeiffer State Park. They recently opened up some spots after being closed since last year due to the Chalk fires. Unfortunately, other campsite further south, like Limeklin, remain closed. I think the furthest southern campgrounds would be Ponderosa or Nacimiento.
