I picked up a couple used X1600's and I am totally new to strobes so I just have a couple questions.

When I use my 580 EX II it triggers the strobes (which I didn't know it could do) but when it does the pictures are coming out very underexposed, I am not sure if they are just not synced correctly or what is up.

So if my 580 EX II can trigger them does that mean I will not have any use for pocketwizards?

Also I have one chimera stripbox and one white lightning softbox, does it matter that I am using two different brands while shooting?

Thanks so much for your responses!

Here is a pic of what it looks like when using the 580EXII to trigger the White Lightnings

And here is a pic of just my 580 EXII with no White Lightnings

Say wha? Wouldn't the flash from the 580EXII used to trigger the X1600's still illuminate your scene like the second pic? What are you using for shutter speed, aperture, and iso?

I don't think the 580EX is triggering the strobes at the time of exposure. It may be that the ETTL pre-flash is triggering the strobes but the exposure is only the 580Ex.
