I was wondering how any of you look at the LCD screens just after taking a picture outside in the sunlight. I seem to have trouble viewing the images and being able to tell how good or bad it is. They seem to look good when viewed on the camera, but when viewed in Photoshop they can be ok or either to washed out or to dark. Other than using the histogram, how do the rest of you tell how good/bad the photos are? Thanks Dave.

I think, generally, LCDs are only really useful for checking composition. The histogram is the best way to check the exposure, but it has to be read intelligently according to the circumstances.

You might find this (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/understanding-series/understanding-histograms.shtml)web site helpful.

I generally look at the histogram to judge exposure, and zoom in all the way to see if the picture is sharp. After a day of shooting (if I'm not going back home) I may go through the pictures and delete any really bad ones. I usually reserve judgment until I see the images on my laptop, though.
