I was bored rigid this evening, so decided to sit in the garden with a cuppa and try to get some star trails.
I never thought that it would really work, living in an area with so much light polution. I like the way the sunset has left behind a pink glow.

What were your settings for this?
It looks amazing. Love the foreground as well.

Yes, I would love to see what your setting are. I've been wanting to do this for awhile and am curious how to set it up.

The pink after glow is what really makes this shot. I would burn the foreground in as I find the green trees in spots to be distracting.

Just the right amount of exposure I think, that's beautiful.
I'm the opposite of Keith though...I like my foreground objects lit up a little more.

Thanks everyone!
This shot was made up of 120 30sec exposures lasting a total of 1hr, with the following settings...
30sec
f/5.0
ISO 500
Burst Mode - Continuous
Cable release - locked
Then I combined the images as layers in photoshop and set the blending mode to lighten.
Don't forget to shoot a dark frame that you can use to reduce noise. :D

Wow..... that is a lot of work to have one beautiful picture. Thanks again for sharing!
Is that mean the camera automatically (not manual) take a photo every30 sec with 30sec exposure in the whole hour? Sorry for the noob question, I just want to make sure before I try it. I am a newbie and never try this long of an exposure before. TIA.
