I snapped this in the park this evening, and told the little girl's Dad I would send him a copy via email. As my helpful forum critics found my previous post too soft, I wondered if this one was too? Please, before I send a copy to the Dad, does this image look sharp to you? Other comments welcome...

:( I'm beginning to think this picture must be awful. Twenty-five looks and no comments.

Its sharp IMHO. The hair's an indication of that, overall a typical little girl but it suffering a dull foreground, middle ground, and background. Not much color. Desperately needs a pair smiling eyes at a minimum. Its hard getting a good shot of kids that age cause they know what you are doing and usually go shy etc.

I like it LadyHawk! Just bump up the color saturation a little and call it good. I'm sure she and her Dad will like it. : )

Thank you, Carzee - comments much appreciated. This was one of those spontaneous shots, Dad and daughter were just folks in the park. It isn't a very pretty setting, is it.
Jim - Thank you. I think I'm being too conservative in PS... maybe I should forget Raw and go back to Jpeg?
Thank you, Skade. Much appreciated.

Dad is going to love it.
The saturation tip is right on.
Don't give up on Raw.

No question-the Dad will love it. It is very nice.
I agree just some saturation and maybe a slight bit more crop (or not). I tried some saturationon it and she "pops" right out. :D

Thanks AYOTNOMS. I guess I'm going to need a heavier hand from now on... do you do most of the saturation work and sharpening in your raw converter or in PS?
SIXSHOT ... Thank you!
Bonnie - How have you been? Thanks for the help - I need it!

Sharp enough for my taste.
I wish it would have more color in this picture, but I think is ok.

This is VERY NICE Karen!!! I love the composition and it looks clear as a bell on my monitor here at work. Lovely....

It's sharp and that's the first thing I try for. The color and saturation can be much more readily repaired in the 'digital lab'. I agree with the sentiment not to forsake RAW. It's our equivalent to a negative!

looks sharp on my monitor too. i really like the non traditional pose .to me if it needs any more saturation it wouldn't be much. i to was hesitant to switch to raw,but after forcing myself to use raw for a couple outings there is no way i would go back to jpg. i save my raw files so i can retry working them as i get better and the conversion software gets better. great job IMHO

I think it is very nice. It is one of those images that you will treasure for years to come as she grows older.

I think it's a great shot, be careful on the saturation a little goes a long way. Sometimes I think kids look better if there is a little softness to the photo. but that one looks great.

I knew my picture wasn't really awful - I just wanted to get your attention... ;)
Seriously, thanks everyone for your help. I'm happy to hear the sharpness is OK.
Re color: Before I uploaded this image I saved it as sRGB (as recommended on the forum). My original aRGB image, compared to this one, has a lot more color. Looks like I'll have to do some homework on this one. Thanks again!
