Sorry to say it doesn't really work for me. Having the bottom edge of the frame clip the near boot draws my eye down and out. Otherwise they're collectively kind of central and everything's close to side on, so there's not much depth between foreground and background, or sense of movement. There's no particular points of detail or interest. The background wall doesn't contribute anything much to my mind. The dangling shoelace attracts attention for being brighter but also leads it down and out of frame. Perhaps the [ex]military among us will feel differently based on their experiences, but I'm struggling to see any implied story or interest. Cheers, Tony

Even though I see some points valid on the prev critique, I like the quality of the shot in general. I think in general the image has great tones, and in a way it does tell a story. ME likes!
