Posing for Father Daughter Dance

I am shooting a father daughter dance, where the young ladies will be 8-12 years old. Some won't mind sitting in daddy's lap, but I know the older ones may want to stand next to daddy.

Im looking for some suggestions on posing the two, when their might be about a foot difference in height between them, or more.

Any thoughts?

I would probably sit the dad and have the daughter stand somewhat behind the dad.
