Nice lens - I've been using one for a while now. You'll like it!

I owned one of them for a while, but when I started having focus problems with it, I returned it and bought a 17-40L.
It took fine pictures while it worked.
Good luck with it.

Had a little play before going to work and all I can say is
WOW!!
These were taken at ISO 400 (dull day), and the results straight out of the camera are amazing.

Nice.
Was it new, or second hand. The box looks a little hurt.

Hi bruce the lens was most definatly new, and I must admit the box does look a bit molested, but the lens came with all warranties and paperwork

I assume that was directed at me.
My experience with Sigma has been very spotty. The first three Sigma lenses I tried didn't work for various reasons. I admit that after that, I was a long-time member of the crowd that bought into the notion of Canon or nothing.
The 15-30 was one of the three I had difficulties with. There was a problem with the autofucus, or at least a compatibility issue with my 10D---it just would not stop hunting. As explained earlier, I returned it and bought the 17-40L instead. The other two lenses were also new, but were old stock and gave err0r-99 messages. They probably could have been re-chipped.
Sometime later, I bought a Sigma 12-24, and then a 24-60. I love both those lenses, and would never consider getting rid of them. I found them to be well made, reliable, and capable of producing excellent images. I am satisfied that the problems I had before were isolated instances and not indicative of an overall quality problem with Sigma in general, or the 15-30 specifically.
The 15-30 id a great lens, and I wish Jabtas nothing but good luck with it. Sorry if it seemed I was raining on his parade.

Sorry Belmondo. But jabtas what ever so excited about that new lens.
After seeing the results though, I'm not sure I would wan't to see the back of my dog's eyes through it's breatherholes! When the sun shines we'll maybe see some butterfly pics!

Sorry about the earlier "in your face" shots, but I just had to test the new lens and Jazz was the nearset subject
