all 3 are gorgeous! what's your lighting setup? I find it hard to shoot on white backdrops.

50mm 1.8. No light setup except natural light, and then some bounced flash.

Wonderful job on these! I would also love to know the PP on these, because they always have such vivid colors without being too dark, etc. Again, great job...I have the XTi and haven't quite been able to get images like that yet...

as far as PP goes- layers, layers layers. Learn everything and anything you can about layers. How overlapping, merging, flattening, changing the opacity etc.. effects each image. What I tend to do in only work on 2 layers. The bottom layer i worry about skin, the top layer I worry about everything else. I make the skin how I want it first, then on the other layer, make the BG and everything else how I want it, and erase over skin on the top layer.

So for the one with the white background... do you point your flash directly at a white wall? I too enjoy this look and I bought a large piece of fleece fabric to put on the wall. I have been trying to put my 430exII of camera pointed at it to create a white background. The problem I have is that it is not white all the way across so I would love to know how you get it so consitantly white. ;) As always, I love your photos.

the consistancy with the white is all in editing. let me see if I can find that image SOOC for you.
I brighten the BG a bit and then Dodge shadows if I HAVE to. I point my flash Straight up at the ceiling. most ceilings remain white in most houses, while their walls may be of color. If you get a color cast, its easily fixable in PS

Here is the SOOC image.. notice the yellow tone, and grey BG not so great. But that also was my fault i went from one setting to another without testing first... none the less I fixed it haha

Are you sharpening the eyes separately?
RebelChick

No the eyes were sharp.. that SOOC was an attatchment so the quality isnt too good. But when I sharpened, I sharpend the whole image.

They are almost too sharp.
You'd be a fool to ever sell that lens. That has to be the best copy I have ever seen.

Well your PP is awsome. Thanks for the SOOC image. Do you mask the subject and then lighten background? And do you lighten it all at once using levels or something like that or do you paint??? I am so new to photoshop I am always interested in the different methods people use.
