I know this is a wide open question as LumiQuest, Sto-Fen and others make several attachments.

I'm heading to a party today (indoors) and would like to get something to diffuse the light. I've been wanting to look at this for sometime and this gives me a good excuse to tell the boss I need one.

Let me know what you use and pros and cons.

What I've seen at the store:

Lumiquest Soft Box $24
Lumiquest 80/20 bounce $25
Lumiquest Pocket Bouncer $24
Lumiquest Pro Max Softbox $36
Lumiquest Pro Max System $60
Sto-Fen Omni Bounce $20
Sto-Fen Omni Bounce Gold $18

Thanks and any help will be appreciated.

You left out the cheapest. Attach a 3x5 white index card to the back of the 420EX with a couple of rubber bands. Leave about 1/2 of the card sticking above the flash head. Tilt the flash 45 degrees.
If you feel that looks too retro, I prefer the Lumiquest Pocket Bouncer over the Omnibounce. The Omnibounce is easier to pack and use but I prefer the look of the Lumiquest results.

Some attachments will cause the flash light to be aimed at the ceiling for bounce purposes. That doesn't work very well if the ceiling is very high. Some attachments bounce and diffuse flash light right at the flash unit. Some attachments simply diffuse the light.

You might want to state what your intended subject is at the party. People? I have a Lumiquest softbox that seems to do a good job with that.

Thanks for the input. The ceiling was kind of low and I just bounced the flash off of it as when I went to the camera shop it was not open for another 20 minutes. Figures I could not wait and had to leave.

Which one would be good for head shots? I will be taken some shots inside a beauty shop on Saturday.
