Will this flash meter properly and perform well on an S5IS?
They have a compatibility chart at B&H but it only references DSLR models and does not mention point and shoots.

Thanks for any input.

The S5IS also supports E-TTL II so it should (as well as it does on the DSLRs anyhow).

Thanks, but the underline portion does not sound promising.
Are you aware of issues with the interface between camera and flash? The few online reviews that are available seem to indicate the sunpak works well with the E-TTL systems.
I am sure it is not as perfect as a dedicated Canon flash, but a 95% success rate would be good enough for me.

I have no experience with the Sunpak at all. I do know that some of the third-party E-TTL flashes have problems coexisting with Canon Speedlites even though they claim compatibility.

I have the Sunpack PZ40X II for my SX10is. The TTL works great. When I zoom, the flash also zooms. It goes from 24 to 80 mm. The TTL modes are E-TTL-II mode and E-TTL modes and Manual mode. I enjoy mine.
