I was able to sneak in a ride Tuesday morning before I got to work. I was rewarded quite handsomely. I'm more a mountain biker who takes photos than a photographer who rides mountain bikes.

Birdfoot violet.

The trails were in good shape for a chilly morning cruise.

Overcast skies and dark winding trails. Wondering.

My bike was swift, silent and svelt. The perfect tool for the ride.

Blue flag. A natural iris species and a real treat to spot.

Macro of blue flag. They were located right after the big creek crossing.

Grey skies didn't diminish my ride at all.

I'm not sure what flower this is.

Unsure about the identity of this one too.

Pretty hard to have a bad day when you start off like this.

See you on the trail.

Steel is real man. What type of frame is that.. almost looks like a fat city.

My bike I ride mountain biking has shocks on the forks and the seat, and a unusal looking frame. How does your bike stand up to the rough terrain?

Nice shots.

Here's a shot of my bike.

Thanks for the replies. To answer your questions:

I was riding in the Uhwarrie National Forest in North Carolina. About 1 hour east of Charlotte.

The bike is a custom single speed make by Steve Stickel in Harrisburg, VA. The geometry and setup was built to my dimensions. And yes, it handles anything I can give it except big drops. It is a great bike for very technical riding, rock gardens, bench cuts and twisty trails.
